Train home after a lovely weekend in England. I needed that. Thank you @siameezcat
but also…
Hello Rye
Minibreak begin
Nice 4.45am shot from the kitchen doorway this morning
Hmmmm textured luxury wall?
Back in the gloom
21st century millionaire fishing village vibes. Nice tho
Grey day but a walk to sort work thoughts is always helpful
Well that was a change from yesterday
Feels like it’s been a little while since I did a London orbit
More campsite shots
Discovered a microbrewery and pub in my first 5 minutes in Lancaster. This nicely tasty 3.5% table beer going down nicely thank you after a bit of a drive today. Batmobile performed admirably.
Weasel murder
Back on the boards … but these little guys, I’m sorry but why? This isn’t gonna end well for you
Yeah it’s back AGAIN amazing
Bedford sunset. Big river. Much full
When your friends make nice things @circaeditions that arrive in the post
(Apologies to other friends, I have a big photos-of-books backlog…)
I remember it from that early scene in Until the End Of The World but didn’t know it lines up with L’Arc de Triomphe in the distance. Sadly the video payphones are no longer here
Fantastique
Good morning NOT rainy Paris
Creeper
Vet vaccination trip!
Pretty skies
Ok that was quite nice, but miles more splintering on the crossgrain than I was expecting (top face) … back face totally clean. Hmmm useful to know. #nanoblade
Sheep in distance
Morning
Probably close enough
I feel like the guy in The Bear “why are you so slow? This is taking too long. Do you want to call in a professional?”
Yay team!
Yes Merlin, a big wool rug is on the shopping list
Went with raw, does add a little more interest without going too yellow
Tester oils L-R Osmo Raw 3044, Clear Matt 3062, natural topoil 3068
This poplar is very light, the raw and natural had white pigment in and looks almost untreated. The middle one a shade more yellow. Hmmmm not sure.
Felling has begun in the forest nextdoor. I haven’t been in it much this year, it’s felt a bit unsafe (even by my standards!) so while it’ll be sad to see it go it is being replanted so that’ll be a new thing to observe.
Double void cats
Crumble for one, plus a waiting hound for “leftovers”
The specific cause of my downfall yesterday. Who has a “sale” on beer, what a bad idea
Great vibes, must return soon
Wall panels continue, slowly slowly …but each one is a triumph!
Nice autumn day
“Oh why do you park all the way over the other end of the car park Paul?” … because people are clumsy idiots and should be graded in ability to be allowed to park, operate doors, leave notes or apologies
Clear evening in Keswick
Rare unplanned family snap. Dad isn’t allowed to smile as he looks like a pirate with his missing tooth.
Morning cows
A couple more but ahhh ooooh so brilliant. Not quite as strong to the eye as last time but pretty good! So lucky.
Fabulous noises from @a_bear_sounds last night at Levitation #levitation24
What’s the deal with these chairs I see everywhere on insta? Horrible. Have they always existed? Yuck
Floor next. Decision time. Quite into the Corka white cork planks from @colourflooring - Rug from @chimneysheep and the wall panels are poplar ply with raw @osmo_uk oil sanded silky smooth
New Teenage Engineering instruments have dropped … I kid, these are the homemade prototype instruments from Roland Moreno total French tech hero - invented the Chip on a card and clearly that caught on.
Bye bye rainy island, next stop … um rainy Paris
Sunset and moonrise
Really hoping this late summer weather can extend to the weekend
Evening shift is getting shorter/darker/earlier
The sunny days are finally here!
How is it this cold already? Brrr
Mia seems to think this would make a good new time (4.30pm) for dinner. Nope.
Forestry ops have begun
The light thing is cool
Not invisible fixings but really really tiny and nice ones
Dry fit test on bits for the window reveals. Looks ok. Phew
8.30pm 😢
A couple of days of summer promised
Squeezing in a tiny bit of - Stop: hammock time - before the week begins
Sock drawer reboot
Koko curled up on the bed with Merlin. So sweet.
Hello sea, sun
Treasure found
Right, minibreak is go
Skies are back
Something has gone very wrong with the kitchen shit hifi that normally will not play Spotify. 80s hits, autonomously. Hmmm is there a message? It’s playing Eye Of The Tiger from Rocky now.
I mean honestly
Well this is nice, a little oasis in Limehouse.
Jam packed today (no really - car park is overflowing)
Maximum leaf time
Bodega at Earth Hackney last night. Fun!
Visited the old camp site, as the sun was going down. Nice memories.
Peripheral rewatch. So ridiculously good, so sad 😢 it was cancelled. Bahhhh
It’s very cold out but how often do you see this in south wales? (I would not have thought the answer would be “a few times a year”)
Loved seeing System 7 up close and serious. So much fun.
Finally removed the old electrical extension from the stable block and all the power is on the nice new fusebox. Kind of reassuring to have a known good earth, and be on the appropriate sized cable to the house.
Proof of touristique
A pompidump, mostly from the big comics exhibition I’d been meaning to catch and almost ran out of months. I enjoyed it.
Proof of Pompidou. So vast. More later
£1.29 unleaded / full house on the Tesla stack
Wood fibre boards. Lovely stuff but unexpected massive compressive strength means that to fit the window reveals flush I need to give it a shave.
Ah this light, briefly
Such a nice day, back to work tomorrow 😭
Good sky
After a very disappointing experience with a Makita jigsaw (blades kept coming out) I’m going to try this thing. Like a teeny tiny chainsaw in a jigsaw form factor. Curious…
Late night eBay worked out fantastic
So ridiculously damp that tiny snails are climbing the house
Tate dump
London! One last NHS design team outing. Pints later south bank ish
Morning cows
30 minutes to enjoy
7.30 still golden but dark in an hour
Fog filled valley
